Pallets are directly related to storage racks, handled products, containers, transport vehicles, unloading platforms, and handling facilities. Therefore, pallet dimensions are the basis for considering the dimensions of other logistics equipment.
1. Consider the dimensions of transport vehicles and equipment: Appropriate pallet dimensions should conform to the dimensions of the transport vehicles to fully utilize space, increase load capacity, and reduce transportation costs. Particular attention should be paid to the internal dimensions of shipping containers and commercial vehicles.
2. Consider the packaging specifications of the goods being palletized: Select appropriate pallets based on the packaging specifications of the goods being palletized, maximizing the use of the pallet's surface area and controlling the center of gravity height of the loaded goods. A reasonable indicator for pallet load-bearing capacity is: achieving 80% surface area utilization of the pallet, and the center of gravity height of the loaded goods should not exceed two-thirds of the pallet width.
3. Consider the universality of pallet dimensions: International standard pallet sizes should be used whenever possible to facilitate pallet exchange and use.
